Southern Tanzania itinerary (Offered as Game package)

Day 1: Arusha / Dar – Selous

After breakfast we will be transferred to Arusha / Dar es Salaam airport to catch our flight to Selous. On arrival we will be picked by a driver guide from Rufiji River Camp for our afternoon game drive with optional walking and boating safari. Later in the evening we drive to Rufiji River Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Selous

After breakfast we go for a full day game drive, lunch boxes to be served in the park and in the evening we drive back to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Selous – Mufindi Highland

After breakfast we will be transferred to Selous airport to catch our flight to Mufindi Highland. This is an outstanding place to see the real Tanzania, a peaceful, pastoral country with lush scenery and friendly people.  This is a day of relaxation though we have optional activities to do in this day. You will be welcomed by a driver/representative from Mufindi Highland Lodge who will transfer you to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mufindi

After breakfast we have a full day of activities that you have an option to choose from horse riding, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, bird watching or lawn sports, dinner and overnight at Mufindi Highland Lodge.

Day 5: Mufindi – Ruaha

After breakfast we prepare to be transferred to Mufindi airport to catch our flight to Ruaha, on arrival we will be picked by Ruaha River Lodge driver guide for our afternoon game drive and later drive to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Ruaha

After breakfast we start our full day game drive, Ruaha is the biggest national park in Tanzania, so it may need 3 days or more to enjoy it fully. In the evening we return to our lodge for dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge

Day 7: Ruaha

After breakfast we start our full day game drive, Ruaha is the biggest national park in Tanzania, so it may need 3 days or more to enjoy it fully. In the evening we return to our lodge for dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge

Day 8: Ruaha – Katavi

After breakfast we transfer to Ruaha airport to catch our flight to Katavi, where we will be welcomed by Katavi Wildlife Camp driver guide for an afternoon game drive.

Day 9: Katavi

Today after breakfast we will have a full day game drive, lunch boxes will be served in the park, and later in the evening we will go back to our lodge for dinner and overnight (You will have one more day optional to enjoy Katavi more).

Day 10: Katavi – Dar / Arusha

Transfer to the airstrip after breakfast to catch your flight to Arusha / Dar for dinner and overnight or to connect you international flight home

For those with a lot of days in Tanzanian, you may fly to Kigoma to continue with Gombe Stream and Mahale Mountains National Parks for Chimapanzee safaris before later fly to Rubondo Island, then to Arusha /Dar.

Swala Safaris will be happy to arrange for you a Southern Tanzania Safari which will be offered as a game package. It is also very possible to add Western Tanzania Safaris (Katavi,Gombe Stream, Mahale Mountains, Rubondo island and Saanane Island National Parks on Request.
