Swala SafariNgorongoro was our last and final stop of our three day tour with Swala Safari (Arusha- Lake Manyara – Ndutu – Ngorongoro). Rose put this itinerary together for us and she was incredibly helpful and communicative, and our driver Felix was amazing. He had so much knowledge about all the different flora and fauna we saw in Ngorongoro as well as the history of the area, and clearly loved what he did. He even went back to get us after our drive was over one day, because he had heard reports of a lion nearby and because of him we not only saw it, but were within 15 feet of it. We stayed in Rhino Lodge (inside Ngorongoro) the night before which was perfect for being one of the first in the park the next day. It definitely has the most animals so it was great to see it last! I would definitely recommend Swala Safaris, and Ngorongoro to anyone”. By Gilenja, London, UK

Really glad we wentWe were worried that this would feel too much like a zoo for us at the end of our safari, but it didn’t. The crater landscape and terrain has to be seen from above and below. It holds a diverse range of animals. We went in really early to maximise our chance of seeing black rhino and saw 3 (from a distance). The roads aren’t too close together so you don’t tend to get as close to animals here as in other parks, but it was nice in that sense too. We traveled here with Swala Safaris”. Magnificent setting, good viewingIt is a spectacular setting. We saw hippo and, at a distance, a rhino and a cheetah which were not seen in Tarangire. Swala Safaris were good and our driver, Silver, was very helpful”. By Ian H., Auckland Region, New Zealand

“Awesome Hotel, Helpful and Kind staffI stayed at the African Tulip with my parents before and After our Safari which was organized by Swala Safari. The Hotel was ideally located close to Swala Safari. It is a very nice Hotel located in a calm street away from the noise of Arusha’s street, with a beautiful swimming Pool to chill. The rooms are spacious and spot clean, Internet is reliable even in the room and free of charge, breakfast is awesome. You can feel that the all staff of the Hotel is dedicated to make your stay enjoyable and they will go out of their way to help you. As we were flying late in the afternoon we were granted a late check out at no cost. The African Tulip the perfect Oasis to start and finish your safari. Stayed November 2015, traveled with family, by Seb D, Montreal, Canada

Cat’s, cat’s and lots more to offerThe Serengeti is not to be missed, the long drive (or flight) is worth it. It’s a very large park with a good concentration of wildlife, the rains came early for us (3-5 Sept 2014) but this was good as it kept flies and heat to a minimum. We saw lots of cats (all types) and many Elephants, Giraffes, Hyena and Buffalo, Impala and Gazelle. The one thing that separates this park from all others for me is just as it’s written… ‘endless plains’ are breathtaking and it’s not like many of the other parks and conservancies in East Africa where you’ll see power lines, out here it’s you and the animals! The Kopjes and mix of plains and wooded areas make it really unique and well suited for wildlife safaris. We traveled with Swala Safari’s and stayed at Kati Kati tented camp”. Safari with Swala Safari – We really enjoyed our experience with Swala safaris. We were able to combine both the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater in a three-day trip that included two stays over – night and a flight into the Serengeti at the beginning. This condensed itinerary worked for us, as me and my partner are high-energy, well-travelled people with lots of stamina. Rose was fabulous in advising us and helping us tailor our trip before we had set foot in Tanzania, answering promptly to emails. She also helped and remained flexible with other details while we were in Tanzania, such as where we would get picked up. My partner and I were alone on the safari itself, and were guided by Joachim. Joachim suited our personalities well. He would join my partner and I in the search for the animals, providing explanations when we needed or asked, and would stop as long as we liked at each sighting. One day on the Serengeti, while we were scouting out many of the Big 5 (which we eventually accomplished), Joachim was conducting a multi-hour search in the background that eventually brought us to a mother cheetah and her cubs. He was also a bit of a practical joker, which kept everything light and lively. The price we paid for the safari was cheaper than most other companies, which naturally made us a bit nervous before we arrived in Tanzania, but I couldn’t really identify a difference in service compared to other companies, except maybe in branding and international presence. All in all, we were very pleased, Jambo!”.  Onxy Eyes, Munich, Germany

We felt rather homesick for the bush and the friendly people we met. We loved Tanzania so much, we should like to have a chance to be there much more often”

“If you are not sure whether you can afford a safari our advice is get a second mortgage, sell members of your family, just find the money to do this safari because you will have an experience that will stay with you forever”
– P.S. (U.K.)

“Most companies didn’t answer, and of those who did, only one was consistently responsive. Swala Safaris communications were clear and comprehensive…. made the whole planning process easy at a cost less than half the typical rate…….Our trip was flawlessly orchestrated, authentic to its core, and profoundly transformative”
